About the CCR

THE CO-CURRICULAR RECORD
The Co-Curricular Record (CCR) is a program designed to help students find skill development experiences at Humber College and the University of Guelph-Humber and to have them recognized on an official record. Co-curricular experiences can range from paid positions, to volunteering, to workshops, and more: any experience that provides transferable skill development per the competencies framework and does not qualify for academic credit may be captured on the CCR.

CRITERIA FOR EXPERIENCES
All experiences must meet the following criteria in order to be eligible for CCR certification:

  1. Must be co-curricular in nature: not part of the academic curriculum, tied to grades, or awards.

  2. Must provide valuable competency development per the CCR Competencies Framework.

  3. Have an approved affiliation with Humber or Guelph-Humber per validator's departmental protocol.

  4. Can be accurately validated by a staff/faculty member.

  5. All experiences must adhere to the Code of Student Conduct.

Experiences may include:

  • Volunteer Experiences
  • Varsity Athletics, Intramurals and Extramural
  • ​Conference attendees, organizers or speakers
  • Research Assistants
  • Training and Workshops
  • Committee Roles
  • Paid Experiences
  • and many more!

THE SEARCH PORTAL

The CCR's online search portal is a quick way to find a variety of experiences happening across the College and University at all three campuses. Students can find experiences based on their availability, campus location, institution, department or skill development opportunities being offered.
 

ACCESS TO SKILL DEVELOPMENT

CCR experiences offer access to 46 unique skills and competencies that are valuable for employment. Each experience will indicate the skill development exposure prior to participation, which can help students understand exactly where they'll have the opportunity to grow. Staff/faculty members will be asked to indicate the specific skill development upon application.

TERMINOLOGY

  • Co-Curricular: Co-Curricular experiences reflect student involvement that occurs outside of the classroom, and are directly linked to a campus service, department or School.

  • Extra-Curricular: Extra-Curricular experiences reflect student involvement that occurs outside the classroom, and are not directly linked to a campus service, department or School.
